Luminaria 2013 - Just Around the Corner

theFund is gearing up for another year of Luminaria, and we could not be more excited about it. Together with the help of the growing Volunteer Corps of 2013, made up of volunteers representing countless organizations and companies from around San Antonio, we are going to make the sixth annual Luminaria better than ever. A special shout out to some of our biggest supporters:
-Broadway Bank: see them at the t-shirt tents
-Citibank: find them in the ticket booths
-Bank of America: working at the command center
-SACU: operating beer concessions, thanks to the “Get GO. Give back” contest
-Phyllis Browning and SSFCU: directing from the information kiosks

This year, food trucks will line South Alamo in addition to the already vast array of food vendors available, and thanks to Silver Eagle, our Beer Concessions will be fully stocked (don’t worry: there’ll be plenty of soda and water for the youngsters). And this year, the Luminaria shirts were designed especially by an artist and will be available in addition to vintage souvenir shirts from previous years.

For 2013, we are so happy to say that we have 38 artists new to Luminaria in addition to 52 returning artists. Among the new artists are The Aesthetic of Waste, ARTheism, Katy Silva, and Bleep Attack!. Don’t forget to make your way over to the Riverwalk, where you’ll be able to enjoy art both on and along the river. There will also be performances all night at the Arneson Theatre behind La Villita. You’re not going to want to miss the new and exciting theatre, music, dance, and visual and media arts that are coming together on Saturday, March 9th.

So mark your calendars and planners: Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.
